ESCALA

“The ESCALA CTL-HSI is the only teaching program in the country that focuses on increasing Latinx student success in Hispanic Serving Institutions through long-term professional development and coaching on culturally responsive instruction.”

Over the 2020-21 year, select Texas State faculty participated in the HSI Faculty Summer Institute, a culturally responsive teaching program for faculty at Hispanic Serving Institutions, provided by ESCALA Educational Services. First, faculty attend a summer kickoff retreat (3 days), then complete a series of online assignments and individualized coaching sessions in fall. As a final project, faculty design, implement, and present the results of a Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (SoTL) -inspired teaching/learning project.
